In the light of ever increasing technology use in the workplace and the growing trend of organizations mandating the use of technology, it is important to understand how technology is accepted by its users. Most of the past research into technology acceptance has focused on voluntary technology and little focused on mandated technology. This study set out to investigate mandatory technology acceptance by filling two gaps in the extant literature. The first was a common thread in past studies that suggest the antecedence of technology acceptance be studied in a mandatory-use environment. The research question was “To what extent, if any, is there a relationship between organizational variables, technological variables, and end-user variables related to mandated technology acceptance?” was answered using a quantitative, non-experimental survey design and analyzed using Pearsons R Correlation and the structural equation modeling method of partial least squares (PLS). The results indicated that the strongest relationship, and only significant relationship, was between technological variables and mandated technology acceptance, the second strongest was the organizational variables, and the weakest correlation was the end-user variables. The results indicated that the design of the eWiSACWIS is the most important factor in getting people to accept it. Organizations should concentrate on paying special attention to making technology enjoyable to use, useful, easy to use; and it should provide high quality output. Organizationally it is important to make sure the technology is relevant to the end-users’ job.
