Properties of groups at infinity
by Gentimis, Athanasios, Ph.D., UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, 2011, 65 pages; 3497039

Abstract:

In this thesis, we examine three different topics of Geometric Group theory. Asymptotic dimension and its relation to groups, limit aperiodic groups and the cohomological properties of certain compactifications of coarse structures on hyperbolic spaces. We give all appropriate definitions and properties, present basic examples and prove some main theorems.
