Desuspending involutions on S1 x Sn. Concordance classes of homeomorphisms of S1 x R Pn
by Todorov, Todor, Ph.D., TULANE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, 2011, 68 pages; 3495312

Abstract:

This dissertation is mostly devoted to the study of concordance classes of S¹ × [special characters omitted]Pn. For the goal of our research, we first obtain the topological structure of S¹ × [special characters omitted]Pn × I and the structure of the first concordance group of Aut( S¹ × [special characters omitted]Pn) which help reveal the structure of the concordance classes of the block automorphism group [special characters omitted](S¹ × [special characters omitted]Pn). The last result allows us to obtain the structure of π1([special characters omitted](S¹ × [special characters omitted]Pn)). We continue by examining the concordance classes of S¹ × Sn and studying the correspondence between the concordance classes of S¹ × Sn and S¹ × [special characters omitted]Pn.

About ProQuest Dissertations & Theses
With over 2.3 million records, the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) database is the most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses in the world. It is the database of record for graduate research.

The database includes citations of graduate works ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those accepted as recently as last semester. Of the 2.3 million graduate works included in the database, ProQuest offers more than 1.9 million in full text formats. Of those, over 860,000 are available in PDF format. More than 60,000 dissertations and theses are added to the database each year.
