A Bibliometric Study of the "Journal of Humanistic Psychology"
by Thelen, Matthew, Psy.D., THE UNIVERSITY OF THE ROCKIES, 2011, 148 pages; 3466603

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to quantify dimensions of articles published in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology ( JHP) from 1961 to 2010. The dimensions measured include the geographic origin of articles, number of authors per article, author gender, number of pages per article, number of references per article, number of articles per issue, type of article, and a citation analysis of the most frequently cited authors and documents. A history of the JHP is given with an emphasis on its role in formulating the unique epistemology of humanistic psychology. The distinct bibliometric profile of the JHP can be attributed to the philosophical conceptualization of science that accepts subjective reports as evidence in humanistic psychology.
