Evaluation of Positive Behavior Support program implementation in a community summer program
by Ternus, Jackie, Ed.S., UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AT OMAHA, 2008, 40 pages; 3331216

Abstract:

This study describes the results of the implementation and evaluation of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) in a community-based summer program for socioeconomically disadvantaged girls. Staff members were trained on PBS and the implementation occurred in three phases during the eight week program. Data were collected using interviews, direct observations, and reviews of behavior incident logs. Results suggest that PBS can be successfully implemented in a non-academic, short-term setting if the program has administrative support and staff consistency. Implications for school psychologists and other education professionals are discussed.
