Rorschach predictors of psychopathy in violent male offenders
by Nassen, Nikole N., Ph.D., ALLIANT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, SAN DIEGO, 2008, 131 pages; 3305740

Abstract:

This research project examined the ability of the Rorschach Inkblot Test to predict psychopathy as defined by the Hare Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R). Archival data of 114 violent male offenders were examined in order to expand upon previous research on the Rorschach and psychopathy by examining new variables, assessing specific traits of psychopathy, and addressing criticisms of previous research. Psychopathy was examined as both a continuous and a dichotomous construct. It was hypothesized that selected Rorschach variables would relate to psychopathy level. This research contributes to assessment and individual treatment considerations of psychopathic offenders.
