Do changes in state and federal mandates affect teacher motivation in the state of Maine?
by Couturier, Holly D., Ph.D., CAPELLA UNIVERSITY, 2007, 92 pages; 3278155

Abstract:

Four years ago a study was done on 60 past and present teachers throughout the state of Maine to determine what was keeping them in the professions, why they left education, and if they were considering an early retirement. This research is a partial replication of the original study, albeit querying different teachers, and further examines teacher motivation in Maine since the last study. Qualitative phenomenology, primarily teacher interviews, is the research method used.
