Effective teaching traits relevant to the academic success of African American students

Abstract:

The market for better educational institutions within school districts is divided between the political system and the educational system. The educational system has increased research for issues that can be expanded and studied in earnest. One such issue is the relationship of teaching traits and academic success for African American students. The political system has mandated that all students receive an appropriate education, and educational systems are being held more accountable than ever. However, test scores of African American students continue to be significantly lower than those of Euro American students. An issue that may reframe the thoughts and activities of educators and educational researchers is the relationship between teaching traits of master teachers and the academic success of African American students.
