School psychologist interventions and recommendations for specific learning disabled students with visual and/or auditory processing disorders
by Sowell, Trutina Maria, PsyD, ALLIANT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, SAN DIEGO, 2007, 0 pages; 3273269

Abstract: Interventions and recommendations for specific learning disabled students with visual and/or auditory processing disorders are proposed as a reference guide for school psychologists. This project was developed to provide an in-depth explanation of visual and auditory processing as well as recommended interventions and accommodations. The ability-achievement discrepancy model and the responsiveness-to-intervention model are discussed in relation with the identification of specific learning disability. Auditory and/or visual processing deficits are a subcomponent of the specific learning disabilities category. This document includes a brief history of special education, brief physiological descriptions of the learning process, and brief descriptions of symptoms of specific processing characteristics.
