Assessing dynamic indicators of basic early literacy skills as a predictor of reading success for beginning readers
by Gardiner, Mary Elizabeth, Ph.D., CAPELLA UNIVERSITY, 2006, 146 pages; 3239060

Abstract:

The study was designed to examine the relationship between two measures to see if the DIBELS was a predictor of the DRA with regard to reading success for beginning readers. The DIBELS and the DRA were used for this study. Incoming kindergartners (August 2005) who were also still in attendance at Primary school A in January 2006 were included in this study. The DIBELS and DRA were conducted on the kindergartners in this study to see if there was a relationship between the two measures. This study also looked at subgroups to see if a relationship existed between certain subgroups.
