Abstract: The problem. The purpose of the study is to investigate criteria for successful aging in retirement. Method. A review of the literature examines concepts of successful aging and retiring. The emphasis of the study is on a review of literature from 1990 to 2005. Results. The precepts of successful aging are used to form a model of retirement planning which could be useful in Retirement Counseling or Life Coaching.
