Abstract:

This thesis presents and evaluates the integration of educational technology curriculum in the inclusive classroom as it relates to student achievement—inclusive being defined as educating students with special needs alongside typically developing peers. Through the use of various educational technology curricula, learning objectives of all students are met within one classroom environment. Autonomy, creativity, and inquiry based learning are tapped to allow for differentiation in instruction, encourage engagement in the learning process, and comply with IDEA standards for Least Restrictive Environment. The innovative technologies available to teachers today open doors to all students. By examining these technologies and their worth and potential for positive outcomes for students at all levels, the importance of diversity, engagement, and student placement as these things relate to the inclusive classroom are investigated.
