Abstract:

This personal narrative briefly describes my past in the performing arts and outlines my training as an actor and my development of an actors process through various class and performance experiences at the University of Louisville. Through the use of character notes, physical and vocal warm ups, and research into the mindset and vocal patterns of another person I found pathway for exploring, discovering, and embodying the character of Uncle Peck. I further discuss how I can apply this process to other theatre projects and offer my own insights into theatre and why I have chosen this art form as my life's work and vocation.
