Teachers' Understanding of the Biological Basis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Abstract:

This study evaluated the hypothesized positive correlations between the amount of biological knowledge that teachers have regarding Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and their opinions of the use of medication and behavioral therapy. There were no correlations found of any statistical significance. The study also evaluated the hypothesized negative correlation between the number of years since the teachers have graduated from a teaching curriculum and their level of knowledge of ADHD. There was no correlation found of any statistical significance.
