Conflict management program development
by Lofrano-Larson, Jessica A., M.B.A., THE COLLEGE OF ST. SCHOLASTICA, 2011, 59 pages; 1499990

Abstract:

This study addresses the need for conflict management in the workplace because of the increasing number of factors contributing to higher workplace conflict. Factors such as increased communication technology use, increased teamwork, and cross-cultural communication have all shown to contribute to the increase of both task and relational conflict in the workplace. This study also analyzes the many effects of conflicts on individuals, including decreased productivity, mental and physical health problems, and hostility and violence.

Because of this increase in conflict and the negative effects of conflict there is a need for conflict management programs in the workplace. This study discusses the development and implementation of these programs and what factors should be considered when customizing a program.
