Abstract:

Approach the Throne is based on the Presbyterian order of worship, which is also loosely based on the traditional Catholic mass. The aspects of the sacred service that are presented in this piece are: the approach to God (movement one), the reciting of the Lord's Prayer (movement two), a scripture lesson (movement three, the 23rd Psalm) and the reciting of the Apostles' Creed (movement four).
