High altitude simulation of fuel cell

Abstract:

This study explores the current proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) technology for avionics applications. A pressurized fuel cell system has been modeled with several support components. The effects of the ambient parameters over system efficiency have been investigated and analyzed. The results show reasonable performance drop for high altitude because of ambient variations compared to sea level operation.
