The business of exercise physiology
by Boone, Tommy, M.B.A., THE COLLEGE OF ST. SCHOLASTICA, 2010, 29 pages; 1477521

Abstract:

This project explored the opportunities and challenges that would be faced by an exercise physiologist in starting a small healthcare business. It began with a review of literature that examined resources drawn from the profession of exercise physiology, the larger healthcare industry, business entrepreneurship, and strategic planning. In turn, the information that emerged from the literature was used as the foundation for a sample business plan that illustrates the types of issues an exercise physiologist would face in creating a new enterprise. The project concludes with a call for action by those in the profession and a checklist of questions that a successful entrepreneur must be able to answer.
