Energy mapping for community energy efficiency initiatives
by Veilleux, Neil R., M.A., TUFTS UNIVERSITY, 2010, 64 pages; 1476087

Abstract:

In an effort to mitigate the harmful effects of global warming, create green jobs, and develop local economic opportunities, many cities and towns are investing in energy efficiency (EE) services. As local EE initiatives unfold, it has become increasingly evident that decision-makers need better tools to analyze and understand energy patterns in cities. With this in mind, the following paper explores the potential of energy mapping as a tool that helps EE administrators market programs, target energy intensive buildings and neighborhoods, and measure the overall effectiveness of local EE services.
