Juvenile sex offenders exhibit difficulties in social competence, many have histories of family maltreatment, abnormal functioning of family unit, and most juvenile sex offenders have been victimized themselves. Multi-systemic therapy appears to be a treatment with the potential for addressing the aforementioned challenges by utilizing a community and family-based approach. The purpose of the project was to design an evidence-based treatment program, identify potential funding, and complete a grant proposal for multi-systemic treatment program at Starview Community Services. The major focus of the program is to work with the many different systems surrounding the juvenile sex offenders in its natural environment. The Weingart foundation was identified as the most suitable funding source for a grant submission. Actual submission and/or funding of the grant were not required for the successful completion of this project.
