Abstract:

This document contains a collection of compositions and arrangements, representing the premier works of a novice composer. The writing represents a variety of genres and styles. The compositions are suitable for a variety of situations, including church programs, university concerts, and similar events. Choral works include To Our Redeemer's Glorious Name (an arrangement of a Sacred Harp hymn), Gloria Fanfare (a setting of Luke 2:14), Psalm XXIII (a setting of Psalm 23), Blessed Redeemer (a setting of the hymn text with original music), Puer Natus Est Nobis (a setting of Isaiah 9:6), and America, the Beautiful (an arrangement). The instrumental pieces are Nocturne for Organ and Theme and Variations for Violin and Piano (a theme followed by six variations).
