by Kaasa, Melissa, M.A.E., PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, 2009, 81 pages; 1471691

Abstract:

This study looks at the influence of music for facilitating classroom management, promoting student engagement and supporting student learning within the kindergarten classroom. Data about the effective nature of musical components for optimizing classroom routines, enhancing student motivation and promoting academic achievement were collected. The data reveal a positive student response about and preference for music-oriented activities throughout the day. The implications of the findings are discussed in relation to instructional practice.
