Integrated care services specifically designed for the mentally ill homeless with HIV/AIDS

Abstract:

The purpose of this project was to write a grant requesting funds for the development of a program of Housing and Integrated Supportive Services for the homeless, mentally ill, and HIV/AIDS infected, that would provide much needed housing advocacy, shelter, and health care specifically for the homeless population in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. An overall review of the area's need was explored, and a review of existing programs or alternatives was considered. A review of the literature was also conducted. The grant was written as a submission to the National Institute of Health to provide funding for this proposed site. If awarded, this grant will provide the construction of offices, hiring of employees, health care and housing for this population.
