Feminism and composition: A pedagogy for first year composition
by Navickas, Kathryn E., M.A., STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AT BINGHAMTON, 2009, 98 pages; 1465440

Abstract:

Feminism and Composition: A Pedagogy for FYC is a M.A. thesis which utilizes Kay Siebler's 16 feminist pedagogical themes to examine the logistics of a graduate instructor using a feminist pedagogy for a first year composition course. The thesis offers a synopsis of previous scholarship documenting the relationship between the two fields of feminism and composition, including their interactions and the debates in the fields. Siebler's Composing Feminisms is briefly summarized and used to explicate a sample FYC syllabus. Primarily a work of praxis, the thesis intends to show how a feminist pedagogy would be enacted by a graduate student in a FYC course.
