Quality system implementation in the Caribbean with focus on Caribbean bottlers
by Lowe, Angela, M.S., CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, DOMINGUEZ HILLS, 2008, 57 pages; 1455380

Abstract:

The bottlers of the Caribbean have been trying to implement the Coca-Cola Quality System since 1999, when it was first introduced to the Quality Managers and management by the Coca-Cola Company. However, eight years later, none of the eighteen bottlers have yet been certified in the Company's four phased system.

This project identifies the obstacles faced by these bottlers resulting in the lack of progress of the implementation of the quality management system, and provides guidelines that these companies can use to overcome these obstacles.

A well implemented quality management system can introduce tremendous benefits to a company, one such benefit being a reduction in manufacturing cost. In this current era of Globalization, where many of these Caribbean countries are flooded with competitive products from all over the world, a quality management system is one strategy that can be used to ensure the survival of the bottlers.
