Recovering memory in Jordi Soler's "Los rojos de ultramar"

Abstract:

Este trabajo analiza los distintos procedimientos técnicos por medio de los que Jordi Soler, en su obra Los rojos de ultramar , construye un espacio narrativo por medio del que lleva a cabo la recuperación de la memoria de los exiliados españoles tras la Guerra Civil y da un lugar en la Historia a aquellos que durante décadas fueron ignorados por la versión oficial. Para llevar a cabo este objetivo, utilizo los estudios de Walter Benjamin acerca de la importancia del narrador como medio de mantener viva la memoria personal, así como los de Pierre Nora sobre los lieux de memoire en los que se conserva y proyecta la memoria colectiva. Del mismo modo este estudio pretende enfrentar al lector con su responsabilidad en la transmisión de la Historia.
