Enhancing the AnsProlog development environment
by Takahashi, Atsuhiro, MS, ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY, 2007, 0 pages; 1444953

Abstract: Application development with AnsProlog (Logic programming with answer set semantics) is very limited and lacks many of the basic features that software developers have come to expect, such as a flexible language structure and a robust development environment. Currently, the AnsProlog language itself does not provide any modularized programming capabilities. This is an essential feature for programmers writing large or complex programs. Today's AnsProlog development environment, unlike other popular sequential programming languages, provides only straight execution with command line parameters. There is no established programming environment to allow complex project definitions, no integrated development environment and no graphical user interface. This thesis describes key components that can facilitate application development with AnsProlog including an efficient Module definition, a Macro call approach and an integrated development environment using Macro libraries with multiple source code inputs. An actual QA system which successfully uses AnsProlog is also described.
